Full disclosure: I know the director, and like his stuff. Anyone in the Bay area should check out the premier! (if you're in to this kind of thing)
Is Jawbreaker any good? Never listened to them. I have a lot of trouble thinking of a ban from the mid 80's as iconographic punk rock. Like when they call Daft Punk godfather's of electronic music. If Steve Albini produced them I should give them a listen. Scared of anything where the Green Day guy and the Foo Fighters guy are going to tell me anything, they are about as punk rock as Disney Ford or KFC.
I'm a big fan of their albums Unfun and Bivuoac. Don't listen to the rest, though.
now that shit's funny as it is true. And if I heard some one call Daft Punk the godfathers of electronic music I might punch them in the throat. (and I like Daft Punk) I really can't speak to their "punk" authenticity. I've only heard them in the ether - I was sharing this more from the music-doc/friend-project perspective.they are about as punk rock as Disney Ford or KFC.
