Have you by any chance read this one?

Part of it was manadatory reading for one of my urban planning courses. The title refers to the fact "more and more people take up bowling as a recreational sport, but fewer and fewer belong to organized leagues" which he uses as a metaphor for urban life in general. He argues that the general trend of U.S. urban society is towards less civic engagement, not more, and that meaningful human moments of contact are becoming a rare thing.

Interesting considering many of the bowling places in Seattle are being shut down and turned into condos. I thought bowling was something that was going away in general.

It's a book written in 2000 based on a paper by his in the nineties. Right now it's mostly a good metaphor for a societal pattern.

I've heard of it, but I haven't read it. Added it to my wish list; I've got three more Durant books totaling approximately 130 hours to get through and then... who knows.

Sheesh. And here I thought my 19,5 hrs of Siddhartha Mukherjee was a bit on the long side. How many credits are you hoarding because of that tome?

I've been paying Audible for two credits a month for about ten years now. I also often do their 2-for-1s and I often do their $4.95 sales.

I've only got this much left.

After buying the last three this morning I still have six credits.
