Its dry but its not normal. How was Superior? I spent the weekend enjoying a beach on Lake Huron, and it was really strange. The water was feet lower than normal, and bathtub warm close to shore. People had their beach chairs set up on some sandbars that are usually submerged. The one good thing that might come out of this drought is that meat prices are supposed to increase dramatically next year and 2014, since the herd will be so small. Maybe that will get people to eat less meat, which is good for our health and the environment.

Thankfully Superior's level was up, but it was unnaturally warm. I would be sad if it stayed that way. Its chilliness is part of why it remains so clear. It also keeps the beaches relatively clear of tourists. :)

I can't imagine a warm Lake Superior. That lake holds so much lore and mystique, non of which are warm (to me) but rather icy, majestic and haunting. I've just become very homesick for MI.

I'll be in Charlevoix/Traverse City area before too long. I can't wait to take my daughter to Lake Michigan.

Our little girl did pretty good for a 4mo. As long as I was swinging her over the water and dipping her feet, it was all good.

The slow dip confused her though.

I recently attempted the "full submersion" at the pool and it didn't go over to well with her. They sure do have a way of reintroducing you to things, don't they? I've not looked forward to time at the lake like this since I was a kid. Playing is fun!
