Hey, just an FYI that the overwhelming majority of Hubskiers are lurkers.

Question to non-lurkers:

How long do you take to write a comment/post?

I've given up writing so many posts, because it's like 40 minutes of dedication just to write a short post sometimes. I find that there are phases where I just think and write with no perfection, and I post a lot more. Maybe these phases are when I'm feeling social, rather than constructive? I tend to be a perfectionist with 'constructive' things.

It depends on the post type, but a good response easily takes half an hour to an hour of iterating. That's mostly because I want it to be honest, be logical, have correct grammar and also sound right.

That said, an imperfect comment is almost always better than no post. I only delete drafts when I can't communicate my thoughts properly or when I don't have my facts straight.

I've deleted more comments than I've posted.

Time is highly variable.

I abandon more comments than I post too. The ones I hunt down links for or want to fact check myself on take a long time, but most don't.

That certainly depends on the post or comment. Most of the time if I comment it doesn't take long at all. I am likely espousing one of my own beliefs that I thought about in the past. Or I'm speaking from experience and don't really have to do any research. However, there are times when I have to do research and it takes Longer.

I use talk to text for most of my comments these days via my iPhone. It saves me time. It's amazing how little I'm using my lap top these days.
