here's what i came up with! nothing too fancy except for a little hot doggin at the end.

You're one of my favorite musicians, you know that? It's completely appropriate, even the hotdogging. --STRIKE THAT, especially the hot-dogging.

I love it. If I had a badge to give, you'd be getting it. Hope all is well. Been listening to Joy a bunch. I see it's now on iTunes. How has the reception been?

good to hear! things are going well, i somehow stumbled into some session bass work that should keep me busy over the next month. RE Beta Males, we actually just got done tracking two new songs today. I'll send some files to you when i get them.

I put joy up everywhere with DistroKid, we'll see how useful that ends up being (feel free to stream it on spotify so i can rake in the big bucks). Reception has been decent, although i had a really hard time finding press outlets that were interested in me. I sent the EP to a bunch of places and only a couple responded to me, only one actually promoted it and that was a place i used to intern at so that doesn't even really count. I'm not sure what i should have done differently but i'll have to figure it out before the next release.

I was thinking about doing a little write up of my experience releasing joy and posting it here if i get the time.

-You should. I bet a lot has changed.

A while ago I was cleaning out an old keep-sake box. In it was my planner from back when I released my first album. My notes are hilarious in it. I had broken out the country by regions and had all of the phone numbers and email addresses for college radio stations etc. I recall being better at all that by the second album. I focused way more locally. Lots of live performances on the college radio station in Ann Arbor and some interviews on radio etc. -but all in Michigan.

Your album is good. If I were you, I would shop it to people for representation. I have no idea what that means, really... but if I can hear the potential, I'm sure they could too. Those songs are both really good from an artistic standpoint and they're very marketable.

Do you guys have a good, functional live band?

I've thought about "shopping it around" as well, but I also don't know what that means.

I do have a live band, although they recorded these two new songs with me so I suppose now they're just the band. They're great! Booking shows as an opening band on a bill that makes sense is another thing that turned out to be more difficult than I anticipated.

yeah, but you do have a lot of people in your life you could ask for practical advice from. You could do this, and you should do this. If I was trying to figure out how to open an ice cream parlor and I knew people that had already opened hundreds of them, it would be silly of me not to ask for advice on how best to do so.

The music side is easy, for someone as talented as you, it's the rest of it that will be challenging.

Good luck dude!
