I think I read on that "five facts" thing you found yesterday that they have about 300k in real funding.

My wife and I have 400k in real funding for the birth center, and the Washington Post sure ain't writing articles about us. Sorta puts things in perspective.

Someone wrote a long ass time ago, about Digg when Reddit really took off, that you get VC funding not for the money they provide but the connections. Example give: ReCode. ReCode is run by a group of VC funds to generate press for their startups, so if you see a positive story with ReCode in the byline, know it is an ad.

Now I am sort of curious to know who the VC is.

Could just be "a bank." Sub-million funding is fairly conventional.
