This was my first moped (not actually this one... but this exact model). I loved it and regret every day that I sold it. It rolled 65mph with two people on it. More reliable than ANYTHING else I've ever owned. The scooter shop in town (when I needed a new tire) called it the Winnabego.
Your tag somehow led me to the below video. I love it. I think that Maybe it's the elevator music version of Tide is High that resonates with me:
The Vincent would be lovely, wouldn't it? The main problem I've discovered with owning a 1-in-7 Italian exotic is it starts to make the acquisition of other exotics seem reasonable. The parts to keep my bike running come from Maniac Motors in Nuremberg. They service Benelli, MV Agusta, Moto Morini, Bimota and Vyrus. There's a Delirio on eBay at the moment, just down in San Diego. Do I need a Ducati Monster with delusions of grandeur? No. No I do not. Do I want one?
I'm loosely acquainted with the guy who owns both the decker and the vincent... I'd say the decker is his daily driver... but that's not really fair to the vincent which he rides when it's not in a museum show. They are both ridiculously beautiful and valuable bikes. He's a super down to earth dude who shrugs off riding a 100k motorbike like "what else would I do with em?". I got to sit on the decker (the lightning was in a show that week) but I didn't dare ask to ride... we're not that close. That Duc is gorgeous... but yours isn't too shabby either. You've posted pics before, and almost every time, I'm spending the afternoon cleaning the drool off my keyboard. Also - ecib! I know you're more of a sportster dude... but I thought I'd call you in to this discussion. (and I may start using the term "call-in" rather than "call-out" for when I @ someone... I use it when I want them IN the discussion... hmmm.. now where was that post about the hubski dictionary....)The Vincent would be lovely, wouldn't it?
Man, I'm having a hell of a time finding content about motorcycles. Maybe because I don't know shit about motorcycles. Also, if anybody reading this wants to get depressed do a daily "news" search for the term "motorcycle." -Damn. Turns out there's a lot of carnage out there because of these things. #wearahelmet
Mile per mile, 27 times more likely to be involved in a fatality.
First ride out with my brother after he took his safety class and got his licence, we were riding down two lanes that ended in a 'T'. We stopped at the sign and the first rider turned right. I was next up, and did the same. I was only a couple hundred feet down the road when I realized I didn't see my brother in my rear view. And I immediately thought of the full-size SUV that was barreling down the road past us as we turned right. I can't describe the feeling as I spun around and floored it back over the hill to see cars and the SUV stopped in the middle of the road with doors open. I can't believe I even remembered to put the kickstand down as I hopped off my bike and saw the steep rise of the embankment with my brothers bike up in the trees and multiple people trying to dislodge it. One of the guys working to get it out had his back to me and hey wait a second...that's my brother's jacket he's wearing! Fuck. Never been so happy in my life. Turns out he simply wasn't used to the weight of his bike compared to the starters, and just couldn't lean into that first turn enough. Instead of going right into the lane, he arced right directly into the grill of the SUV going about 60mph at him. In that split second he had no choice and thankfully gunned it full throttle when he realized he wasn't going to make the turn or avoid the SUV, and flew straight off the road, over the ditch, and up the embankment. To this day I'm thankful both that he didn't get hurt and that that actually happened to him. He's incredibly hard headed and this was the most impactful lesson he'll likely ever learn on the back of a bike. Anyway, that first line of your link made me think of this.

-Awesome telling of this event ecib. I could feel your relief.
Well shoot. You should be able to find tons of good stuff. Motorcycle enthusiasts are a dime a dozen. Unfortunately, Kneeslider is the only Motorcycle blog that I really know about. I'm sure there are other good ones out there though if you poked around a bit.
It's more that I don't know anything about motorcycles. But thanks for the help
