What's all this? ISIS??
I'm new to Hubski and loving it, but it appears that adding a snarky anonymous third tag to posts is how people are going to be disrespectful without accountability here. I normally make a point of ignoring people who can't respectfully express their disagreement. In this case, I can't find that person. I just saw another post about having children with the third tag #adoptalready. I wonder if it's the same user, and if that person is just the super-nicest.
I didn't see what the snarky tag was, but for what it's worth, I tagged it #humor. I don't follow the politics or uspolitics tags but if I did and I saw someone posting this type of content there, I would be annoyed. This is #satire, #humor, #funny maybe. These types of easily digestible posts with little to no editorial on the part of the OP are much more prevalent these days. That's all good, all are welcome here and you can post what you want but I would just consider tagging things appropriately so that those on the hunt for informative content regarding politics can find it. Don't get me wrong, not every post needs to be super hi-brow. I mean, I'm the guy that recently made the "Pets of Hubski" post. -Not exactly the most thought provoking post. Once in a while, even I have to re-read our comment on posting from our "about page:"There are no strict rules for what you can and can't submit to Hubski. However, the best posts contain ideas, information, and perspectives that we haven't encountered before.
Posts of personal content are fine, especially if you have something interesting or creative to share. Feel free to share personal insights and experiences with us. Of course, spamming won't be tolerated.
Yeah, I agree that this was low-brow, but it is (sadly) very relevant to U.S. politics. (Oh, the snarky tag was "notactuallypolitics". And I will try to get a sense of what tags look like from a community perspective as opposed to just mine as I learn the ropes here.)
Donald trumps views and his appeal to a certain block of conservative voters is definitely relevant to US Politics. But there are posts that would belong in the #politics tag that address the same things in a manner with more context: http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/07/does-donald-trump-deserve-news-coverage/398876/ But yeah, it's scary. I was at my daughters violin lesson today and two older people were talking about how right he was about Mexico and needing the "wall." One guy said, "yeah, well... he may have a certain lifestyle I don't agree with, but he's damned successful and it wasn't cuz he's a dummy. I'd vote for him. Anyone over Hillary."
Oh I get it, because fox news isn't news #realnewsisforsquares
