I'm more interested in the astronaut poop left behind on the moon. Long-term evolution of organics and microbe characteristics in near-perfect vacuum.

I always thought the most significant thing that we ever found on the whole goddamn Moon was that little bacteria who came back and lived and nobody ever said shit about it.Pete Conrad

Panspermia is still only a hypothesis. Never underestimate the likelihood of Earth-based contamination.

Also, I'm sorry to say, but most astronauts were simply glorified test pilots. Not geniuses.

"Glorified test pilots" doesn't strike me as a particularly cutting taunt. The astronauts do sometimes resemble teenaged goofballs in the EVA transcript linked in that article.

Okay. Get some rocks with it. That's a good idea. Hey, here's some rocks right here. There's a good rock. You know, we keep collecting a lot of the same type of rock, because there just doesn't seem to be any other kinds around.

And their checklists are full of doodles, puns, and porn.

Thank you, I had never heard about this. Pretty interesting

I love that he used a personal pronoun, That Little Bacteria Who Came Back and Lived sounds like a children's book.
