this is... this is something..
"look how trendy/giving we are! strap an antenna on a homeless guy, give him a sammich, tweet about your generosity lvl 100!"
even kramer and newman gave them a rickshaw to pull, which would be more useful than the connection on the street that your iphone already provides you...
which reminds me; i have a load of lobster shells and chicken skins to drop off at the soup kitchen.
cmon people, we can do better than this..
edit: please tell me the headline "homeless people turned into wifi hotspots for sxsw" was tongue-in-cheek criticism..

that title came from where i found out about this : http://pitchfork.com/news/45722-homeless-people-turned-into-...
but yeah, this is basically what you would call a 'bad marketing idea'. someone came up with the phrase homeless hotspots and thought it was just too catchy to let go. that said, reading the bios on their website feels like they're at least taking concern for these people. if it puts money in their pocket, i'm all for it. not like this is bum fights or anything. but seriously, not an appropriate time for clever alliteration.

"Bum Fights"? Does this exist? If it does, I'm pretty sure it's one of the signs of the apocalypse. As for homeless hotspots, not the best idea. Surely something else can be done that is less degrading. Perhaps they could preach loudly about god on a corner, wash our windshields with a dirty cloth and some spit or play a horribly out of tune guitar with only 4 strings?! .....Suddently, the idea seems alright.
