They did it. Rivers did it. He wrote an album that's good again! I mean, nothing will ever touch Pinkerton or The Blue Album but I'm plenty happy with this. It's introspective, he's back to telling it like it is. It's not the best album by any means, but after 15 years of mediocrity this is an improvement. About damn time.
I think some of it is very good and some of it is trite. At times he's channeling some Queen, and how can that ever be a bad idea?
I like a few songs off the Green Album and Maladroit, and about nothing off of Raditude. So me liking between 1/2 and 2/3rds of this album is a step up. Back to the Shack does not fall into that category.
yeah back to shack was really weak, i really liked the other songs though, foolish father and eulogy for a rockband is god tier.
