I wonder if that means all Windows machines will get updates to bring this in, or will it be a separate thing that you have to buy? Scratch that, I don't think it would work that way, going the route of pushing out updates for ALL Windows machines seems like it would make more sense. What say you Hubski?
Good. Microsoft would benefit a ton if all the desktop apps worked on mobile, mobile on desktop, and all the above. Imagine devs didn't have to port to windows, phone, etc. One version now targets about three platforms. They just have to make it easy to work between them in terms of interface and such.
Designing for POSIX complaint systems is essentially the same thing, and has been around a a while. Ubuntu's inteface is designed to be usable on PC, tablet and phone devices. Microsoft has a lot of catch up to do if they want to get their monopoly back.
Yup. And smartphones finally have the hardware specs to do it.
