I'm ecstatic so many people are looking to participate in the movie club so without further ado lets get the voting started.
I decided instead of going off of a particular genre or theme we'll vote on the pool of movies left in the suggestion thread earlier this week.
Here they are in no particular order:
-Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
-The Union Business Behind Getting High or The Elton John one
Goddammit, I had a whole write up for why we should kick this off right and watch Barry Lyndon. Gomorrah (cause I want to see it) or Grand Budapest (cause I wanna hear these furious criticisms)
Sorry about that! Next go around I'll choose a genre appropriate for that movie, so save that write up. It seems like an interesting film just reading about it briefly on IMDb so I'd be curious about what else you have to say about it.Goddammit, I had a whole write up for why we should kick this off right and watch Barry Lyndon.
No worries, I'm just glad we're doing this! I think there's plenty of opportunity and I've actually never done a movie club before. We could definitely either do like, a genre of film to vote on, or we could even choose a director who has a large enough filmography to draw on.
As long as I can find these films on netflix or online for free I'll participate. The GBH seems popular, but I'll vote for The Fifth Element.
Grand Budapest Hotel. I haven't seen it yet and y'all seem to feel pretty strong about it.
