This is a snippet of a conversation with swedishbadgergirl and I found that as the conversation got bigger (upwards of like 30 messages total) this happened. I've seen this happen with a couple of posts too, and I was thinking that it would be interesting to push the circle dot (which is next to the post) all the way to the left, like it is with the one up in the left corner, next to your /u/ (or nick or handle what have you). I mean maybe this is just a problem for me (1600X900 resolution) but it gets to the point where a conversation gets unreadable. I think I mentioned this to insomniasexx and finally got around to posting the screen cap... Anyway the text near the "end" of the conversation/s looks like this:
T
Y
P
E
D
and it makes the post/s harder and harder to read. I think even the PMs should have all text pushed back to the left most side and continue like that.
havires -- until something happens in that domain, I have a suggestion: Click the tiny word "link" in the author line about one or two posts above the one you're replying to. It brings the whole conversation back to the left margin. Like this which is the beginning of my lantzman JV's thread below.
It is a fairly common problem in forums Reddit solves it by the "load more comments" link
I know that works, but I'm wondering if it can be done better. For example, decaying indentation along with "load more." Or some sort of reset pushing back to the left (not necessarily all the way) at a certain level. You can still reply if depth is limited, it just won't push farther right.
I kinda liked the sliding idea, like moving the hubwheel up and down (or left to right) as necessary to fit the text.
