I really need to start sleeping more than 5 hours a night.
The chorus of this song was inspired by lil's mention of the free-lovin' ways of the 60's/70s.
Any feedback is welcome.
ButterflyEffect and ghostoffuffle -Been playing around with iPad music apps -SO FUN!
Lyrics: I'm wasting my time
Like I said that I would
And I'm taking up yours
But I'm pacing myself
I don't want any more
Than I do not need
Just pile it all up
At my door
Waste not want not
It's not the 70's
I feel bad for
All of the cast aways
I grew up in a sea of flannel
Took one shot
To kill that animal
Sorry for late reply, just got back from a trip to the beach that had me without internet or phone service and pinging between ascetic satisfaction and post-millennial boredom. Turns out going without your smartphone is humbling, but not in the way you want it to be humbling. This is awesome! Big departure from earlier stuff... what did you use to make it? Could use more low end, and the guitar is pretty hot. But these are personal preferences. I love the energy of it. Anything else knocking around in the same creative vein? Seems like a great way to approach music from a different angle...
Thanks a lot man! I appreciate the feedback. I'm using various iPad apps. I like this song a lot and I think I'm going to actually re record it. It may be the first song I've worked on in more than one session in a long time. Feels good to want to actually refine something
This is a pretty cool song. As somebody without an iPad, what kind of apps are these? Mini-DAWs or something?
I downloaded a Rhodes app, and some drum/beat apps. I just play them and run directly from the iPad to my pro-tools rig. I'm sure it's ghetto, but it sounds good enough imo and its fun as hell. flagamuffin, most of them are available on iPhone. The one I dig the most that is available on iPhone is called "Alchemy" and it gives you 4 tracks that you can record on. Would be fun for plane rides etc just to tool around with and come up with melodies etc.
