Grain of salt - social services in San Francisco dust the shit out of social services in Rwanda and the low in San Fran is probably higher than the high in Rwanda - but still. The Glasshole Uprising explained.
This is a classic example of the problem with using income inequality as a comparative measure. I would have guessed there were a lot of cities in the US with income inequality wider than Rwanda. Still do, actually. Rwanda's ceiling just ain't gonna be that high. (And, of course, the Gini coefficient is chock full of holes.)
Off topic, but how do you feel about Pando as opposed to NSFWCorp, kb? I'm still a member, still getting the quarterly, but I think I was reading they're going to drastically increase the price. Are you sticking with it? I'm pretty irked they let go of a lot of the great writers they had at NSFW.
Have any of those writers ended up elsewhere? I remember the NSFWCorp stuff I'd see on Hubski was fantastic across the board, wouldn't mind reading more from the people putting out those articles/essays.
I got into a pretty deep pissing match with Paul Carr about it, actually. They dropped some good reporters and kept some marginal ones and mostly seem to be focusing on how much Uber sucks. I bought into Conflict Tower so I'm along for the ride come hell or high water, but I can't say I'm impressed.
