So, I've watched The Mind of a Chef with David Chang on Netflix like 4 times, and I'm making ramen tonight. I've done it before, from this recipe for the broth, and it was awesome. I'm trying however, to figure out some good additions to the finished soup. So far I'm thinking some kind of pork, (Probably a pork belly, roasted) baby bok choy, a poached egg and scallions.
For those who are into this kind of food, any suggestions for further ramen toppings?
What you are already thinking is spot on, and depending on the type of ramen and your tastes, you could add bamboo shoots, fried garlic chips, chopped mushrooms/fungus, bean sprouts, or corn kernels. Or a pat of butter. I've eaten ramen with all of those toppings, plus more things I couldn't identify! Tell me more about this "The Mind of a Chef" does he give a ramen recipe?
I don't remember him giving a ramen recipe in that episode, but he does go through some creative ways to use instant ramen. I've only watched the first episode though, the ramen one. Having 50% of the airtime being closeups of dudes slurping ramen kinda turned me off from the show.
