Yeah, I agree. I really loved The Royal Tenenbaums and if he'd never made another movie after that, I think I would have been ok with that, or at least wanting more. I find his movies to be visually satisfying but he does seem like a one-note kind of director. I feel that way about Tim Burton and Tarantino too. That said, I will probably see this movie, just because.

I just watched the trailer and I have to agree that it is in the same vein, stylisticly as his others. The dialog seems extremely familiar. But then, I love reading authors like Stephen King that have many similarly crafted novels, with character overlap so why should a director be any different? His films are a blast, an event for me and I'm very much looking forward to once again being in that "Wes Anderson world."

What a cast.

When is it due out? We should go see it in Michigan sounds_sound and b_b

Depending on when/where that is I'd be down as well!

Absolutely. If this were to happen, it would be over the Christmas holiday as I don't live in MI anymore but will be back there between the 22nd and the 1st visiting family. Chances are it will not be feasible, but if it is, we'll definitely shout out OftenBen. Perhaps a holiday Hubski meet up will happen? That'd be awesome.

edit: It would likely be in Ann Arbor.

Oh, I bet it'll be fun. It would be nice if I could go back in time and unread everything about his potential though. I feel like there's a lot of hype and expectation that unfairly colors perceptions of what Anderson could be.
