Waits' voice is absolutely incredible. But this is almost extreme; i feel like he's about to cough up a lung :D

I think Mule Variations might be my desert island album. It's absolutely amazing. The Waits post is timely too, because I was just thinking about him, as kleinbl00 just wrote in a comment that many of his old acquaintances from his youth are either dead or in prison, which is almost exactly a line from another Waits song, "Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis".
