Got hard stuck on this tune from Brazil this past week, listened to it probably over 300 hundred times.
I had a very cathartic dance session that first day.
While moving to the music, I remembered what it felt like to dance with a former partner I had when living in Valencia, Spain last year. It was a rather toxic relationship that germinated in the aftermath of separating from my wife, after being together for 14 years. The dancing brought up all the energy that had brought me to that point in life, culminating in a glorious weeping session. After, I was then able to reclaim the dance energy as my own. This tune facilitated quite a beautiful experience.
I am very sorry to hear that, Blob. But it sounds like you have handled it as well as anyone could...
Man, we all just have so much to work on. I take stock every day and react but the bag doesn't get smaller.
Dig the tune, thanks for sharing.

How about another one? And another personal one.
The polyrhythms in the first seven minutes of this or so are sort of on another level. About a year ago, I was able to do the main synth's ping-ponging two notes for the two main polyrhythm patterns (sidenote)* with my right hand, while carrying on the driving kick drum and snare with my right foot and left hand (this is usually simple, but the polyrhythm in the right hand between the two notes makes it SOOOOooo hard), and I was working on integrating my left foot on the hi-hat pedal, but I have since lost the ability, for now. Obviously deadmau5 isn't performing this, it's modulated on his ridiculous Eurorack analog synths, probably. Or Serum, or Massive software synths, within a DAW, whatever.
I chase the dream of doing all the main synthwork and drums on this at the same time but I'd have to integrate my remaining right-hand fingers to modulate the effects on the right-hand synth and at that point... well, I just don't have the time. Sucks. Like I can see the path but I can't achieve it too easily. Would rather practice more generally, and write.
If we ever meet or talk I will tell you about when deadmau5 hooked up with my roommate. I know, I know. But it was around the time complications 1 came out and he wasn't chasing fame so much as just making deep electro-house tech music and playing some clubs. Well, maybe he was chasing fame. I dunno.
*the second polyrhythm, chronologically, beginning exactly @8:00 is much easier, actually, because it syncs quicker with the driving 4/4 time signature)
Do you know how funny it is to post something with 333 million views?
It's a little funny. It's a little. But you said to share what I've been into.
Heard it in a cab when I was in DC a couple months ago and desperately soundhounded it for source so I wouldn't have to ask the driver out of pop music-loving shame.
So of course the main guitar hook came from Vaughn Oliver.
We were in touch on soundcloud DMs but then he blocked me after I asked if I could buy him a drink and talk shop when I was in LA last year. Oh well.
Yeah someone else had just dropped a nice long comment on him on a track he'd just posted and he'd responded to it positively, in the public domain, hours prior. Otherwise, I could see how it's a little desperate-y. Maybe he hated that I sourced the 300-views Ned Rush tutorial vid we both used? But there was a month-long gap between the last two messages. Whatever, now I get to go on the internet and say "Hey Vaughn Oliver blocked me on soundcloud" haha! sobbing
Speaking of music discovered on a cab ride, I heard this delicious tune in Rome last month:
