This game sounds amazing. Has anyone here played? I'll admit, I didn't even finish the article, I'm off to do more research on this. -It sounds right up my alley.
Do I need to pick up a game too or do we just need the one board?Maybe we can get a Hubski game running.
-As much as I should be kicking myself for attempting to add anything additional to my life..... I'd be down with that.
I thought Risk was a challenge. This blows it out of the water. In Risk, friendships end. In Diplomacy, lives end.
So you have played the game before? If so, I'm curious if you had 7 or more people playing? In the article it says it requires 7 people but I looked up the wikipedia page and it mentions that it can be played by 2-7 players. Also, were you able to have a definitive victor at the end of the game or was it a draw? I'm definitely interested in the game. Thanks in advance.
I've played the game with 3 others numerous times now. It's a fairly slow game, but the game can be really fun if you have people who understand the rules and can play the other players out against each other. There's a web version of Diplomacy, here, where you can start a game and you get an email every time you need to take a turn.
This is a game that ruins friendships :) Fun though, although it can take a long time to play if you don't limit the amount of time between moves.
This game seems like something I would love and at the same time hate. I like games that are about interaction and such but at the same time I would have a hard time with the cut throat aspect.
Welcome also to hubski! Exciting to see so many new users in one day. This doesn't happen too often here. See this post by one of the site co-founders if you're wondering where the hell to start. Also examining the links at the bottom of each page (faq/tmi/about/etc) will help.
Thank you! I hadn't really thought of clicking those links. Going to do that now!
