Turned the big five-oh this week, and found yet another thing I don't have enough time for. Good stuff. Should be ready for sailing with just a little maintenance work.
Her name is "Honey" - serendipity for a beekeeper.
That's awesome. My family's boat is named "Chickadee." She has brought my dad and my family so much joy over the years. There is nothing more relaxing than being on the water. There is also nothing that makes the shit you stress about seem so small. Get on the ocean and you are a tiny itty bitty blip in this universe.
Thanks. Seems a perfect size for tooling around Auckland's very protected Waitamata harbour. We also plan to take her camping with us, since we camp right on the beach.
Exploring the coast via boat is also amazing. When I was in Syndey I was endlessly jealous of all the people on boats. I wanted to go from cove to cove but only some are accessible by foot/car. Those secret little beaches that are only big enough for about 10 people and surrounded by bushes or steep cliffs yield really cool sea life and shells.
Congrats and happy birthday Brian. It was already named "Honey" before you bought it? If so, then I would agree that serendipity definitely played a hand here.
Yes indeed. I've been told it's very bad luck to change a boat's name.
How cool is that? Only other name that may have been as cool "Mead." Enjoy your new adventure pal!

Good choice. My first thought was that your link was going to point to this.
