Fantastic post combining three mediums. Thank you for sharing. I also hope to get to Peru soon.
Awesome post. I had not seen that new Banksy and this piece by Ghent blew me away. http://www.streetartutopia.com/?p=3258#more-3258
Thanks, really liking the site. How interested are you in expanding the user base? I know there is a specific subreddit on reddit.com with like-minded individuals who would probably really enjoy the site. While the influx would create community and content, there is always the risk of some idiots finding the site too. What are your feelings on that?

I think the future is personal transport pods and 3-4 person vehicles that can daisy chain and form ad-hoc trains or buses.

Thanks for the post; interesting talk. I'm sure you've read about Google's effort, but if not: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=google-driv...
I shall never look at the ocean the same way. Carry on my wayward guinea, there'll be peace when you are finished.

Thomas Jefferson believed the Constitution should be rewritten every generation. Food for thought.
Neon_Ubermensch · 4907 days ago · link · · parent · post: Chief Justice John Roberts on why a Bill of Rights wasn't included in the Constitution
I don't know Roberts' stance on gay marriage, but I highly doubt he has taken any public stance as such would go against judicial ethics. They aren't supposed to opine on issues not before the court. I find the first theory fascinating and likely. I especially enjoy it because I think most people would find it odd today in light of the massive expansion of the power of the federal government through the Commerce Clause over the last century. The drafters' expectations were clearly so radically different from what we've ended up with. I think Hamilton truly believed that the document so clearly was one of limited enumerated rights of the federal government, that he could not conceive of such a large and far reaching federal government like we have today existing under the Constitution. As such, he saw the need to enumerate personal rights as somewhat ridiculous. It says a lot about how radically the federal government's role has expanded in America since its inception.
Sounds good and excellent site so far. Very clean and useful. The karma/influence mechanism seems to be the unique core function of sorts, no?
Thanks very much.

Fantastic article. I was disappointed with how short it was, as the material was so interesting I wanted to hear more. Imagine the shocks to social views and even the justice system that are to come as more and more science explains that who we are and what makes our personalities may not be as magical or unique as we once believed, and may not even be in our conscious control.
This is how animated GIFs should be done. These seem to be the evolutionary result of what began as rotating dollar signs on an angelfire.com page in 1992.
I enjoyed the videos despite finding Mr. Cox's presentation a bit stiff at times. It seems ridiculous that we need a refined postulate as to why it is more appropriate for news outlets to give more credence to scientific consensus as opposed to lone crazies. Unfortunately, we seem to be at that point. Since the dawn of humanity science has existed essentially subject to the dominating field of theology; it has lived in religion's tolerating shadow. We are at a point where science is finally overtaking religion, superstition, etc. as the field behind the wheel of society instead of unscientific viewpoints, and some groups whose lives are dictated by the latter are resisting this actively. Religious powers have attempted to stifle and discredit science forever (I think Galileo would agree) but this appears to be a "last stand" of sorts where the scales may finally be tilted such that science is the dominating field and religious beliefs are marginalized. As an aside, Sam Harris does a great job explaining why he believes this is imperative in "The End of Faith." A great book to stimulate debate regardless of your viewpoint on the issue.
Thanks for the welcome. Very excited to find such a great site. It feels more like the old reddit, slashdot and the like. I didn't see any way to contact the developer(s), however I'd like to as I have a couple suggestions on how to avoid some of the problems that killed reddit during scaling. The site looks great though and I am already greatly enjoying the articles and comments of what is obviously a pretty smart community.

As someone who is reading up on Che for the first time after seeing his image for years in popular culture, I was hoping you could explain why you found the photo containing the Che belt buckle so amusing.
Who is the artist?
What a fantastic find. Thanks very much as this is the type of locally created piece I would have otherwise never found. I am currently still listening to the interview, but so far it is great. I have found a couple soundbites of the interviewee to be quite profound and inspirational.
This is odd but some may enjoy it. While the interview has been playing I stumbled upon another hubski post here http://hubski.com/pub?id=1560 With the audio of that link turned way down, I felt like the two links created an unintended artistic work as some of Gene Jacobsen's recollections were overlayed upon the amazing visual beauty of that piece.
