I am new to hubski, so I still don't know what is appropriate to submit. However, I recently came across this band (guy?) and while I wasn't initially thrilled with the music, it has really grown on me. In a relaxed setting, it can be really haunting and beautiful. I hope you enjoy it.

I was just having a beer at a pub in Durham NC and a guy I kind of know came up and said hello. He introduced me to his friend and it turns out his friend is the drummer in Bon Iver. -very nice fella. Great band, I've been into them ever since you posted this. Thanks N_U.
Ah, grooveshark blocked at work. As for what is appropriate, it isn't so much what you submit, but how you submit it. We are definitely interested in introducing each other to new art and artists, and the best way to do it is to provide a bit of background, or insight on why you think we might be interested. If you have a look at #music, you can see the pattern that has been developing: http://hubski.com/tag?id=music
BTW, I'll check this out when I am freed from a firewall! EDIT: Huh, I can't play this at home either. It loads, but never plays. :/

I have had a bunch of people tell me I needed to check out Bon Iver and I have not done so until I saw this post. I like what I heard, very chill yet emotive. I listened to the song "Wash". The simplicity of the piano with the interweaving strings and haunting vocals are really effective. The songwriter "Justin Vernon" is from a town in Wisconsin called Eau Claire and this is perhaps why he refrains the name "Claire" throughout. I appreciate you providing the catalyst for me to finally check out this band, I will definitely be digging in further -they warrant a closer look!! BTW according to Wikipedia, the name Bon Iver is derived from French "Bon Hiver" meaning good winter. -Seems fitting.
