Another thing I noticed switching from soda to water is that when I do drink soda, I really feel the effects of it. It makes me a bit hyper now!
How much time is expected for a team member to be able to put into the project? I recently changed my studying/working arrangement, which means I finally have free time again. I'm interested in helping, but I'm simply not prepared to give up all of my free time again, hence the question.
Most interesting part, imo: "Today's decision doesn't have any direct legal effect. It simply finds that Estonia's laws on site liability aren't incompatible with the ECHR. It doesn't directly require any change in national or EU law. Indirectly, however, it may be influential in further development of the law in a way which undermines freedom of expression. As a decision of the Grand Chamber of the ECHR it will be given weight by other courts and by legislative bodies." So yeah, this is a precedent for other cases. This decision could bring forth bad things, but the decision doesn't really have any effect right now.
People have been saying to invest in India for a while, and so far that trend seems to be correct. One big hurdle for India to conquer will be it's government for sure; every now and then some article pops up about the Indian government that implies they aren't connected with modern technology all that much, and their discussion on net neutrality was somewhat controversial: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_neutrality_in_India But people stood up for their rights, and it seems like the government listened... for now.. The Indian startup scene is also growing, there even have been rumors of Y Combinator bringing it's startup school to India.
I bought some early and have a couple of coins laying around. I also won some on a fantasy vc league. I sometimes order food with it, but that's about it. I don't think it's dead, there are some cool projects like purse.io, but I don't see mainstream adoption happening anytime soon to be honest.
I enjoyed the Total War series a lot! But are you not a fan of the newer civs? And have you ever tried Europa Universalis?
My first 'real' job was at a startup that ended up failing. It kind of sucked, and I sometimes think if there maybe was something I could have done. But you are right that the skills you learn there make you employable no matter what - After the failed startup I immediatly started getting job offers!
Good luck learning python. Learning to program was probably one of the best decisions I ever made!
Do the things you read here make any sense to you? I remember browsing programming boards when I was starting out, and it all just sounded like gibberish to me. If you have any questions or need some help learning python, feel free to send me a message!
I'm starting a new job soon, so I'm preparing for that. It's a rails + emberjs shop, and I need to help them migrate their infrastructure to the amazon cloud. So I'm refreshing my rails and ember skills today and probably the following week :).
