This is interesting. I'm inherently suspicious of the financial industry and private markets, but at the same time I'm glad to see blockchains getting the boost to legitimacy that this will hopefully give.

Well, one nice thing about the blockchain is that no one owns it.

What I love about that quote, is that it clearly indicates the value that Nasdaq sees in bitcoin. They say 'blockchain', but the ledger is only immutable insofar that bitcoin has value. 'Blockchain' has become a new way to talk about bitcoin without talking about bitcoin. IMO in time, saying 'bitcoin' will be akin to 'internet' and the general term 'blockchain' will be akin to 'intranet'.
