My recommendation to parents:

Here's why:

Obama will have a harder time with Romney because the Venn diagram of Romney and Obama is a circle. People like change and Romney will basically be Obama only white.

Gingrich is a trainwreck on ice. Even if you somehow gave him an invincibility potion on his family garbage, he's a quick-to-anger beltway lobbyist with a shady history of payola. The difference between Newt Gingrich and Tom DeLay is Newt got out before the indictments.

Romney is the more easily beaten candidate in my opinion. It shouldn't be hard for super pac to push enough information to southern Christians about Mormonism to keep them home on election night. Give Obama enough of the south and Romney who already has problems with values voters sinks.

So you think it will be easier to dissuade people based on Romney's mormonism than it will Gingrich's infidelities and well chronicled ethics violations? I'm not saying I disagree with you but damn, what does that say about the voters?

I think Romney has an actual chance to grab the independent vote (the middle) where Gingrich doesn't have a shot. If the national focus remains the economy, Romney has a shot imo. Just saying that if I was Obama, I'd be hoping for Gingrich as an opponent. Old, white, conservative and flawed a clear distinction from himself.

Okay, I ordered the first book and thoroughly enjoyed reading the second post:

When a kid learns to read your emotions and play them like an instrument, you’re raising a good persuader.

Dorothy: “Dad, you look tired. Want to sit down?”

Me: “Thanks. Where did you have in mind?”

Dorothy: “Ben & Jerry’s.”

I agree with your assessment of Romney/Gingrich. The audacity you'd have to have to run for president with Gingrich's history baffles me. It basically is him saying, "the citizens in this country are too stupid to care about what I've done". The real puzzler is that nobody in the media seems to care either.

aside: When I was a kid I was failing a math class. My parents had to take a conference with my teacher. She told them that I had the ability to talk myself out of any trouble and that though I may never be a physicist, someday I would make a great salesman or politician. Well, I never went the political route but I've done quite well with the other. I appreciate these links kleinbl00, I'll definitely be sharing them with my wife.
