yeah what did happen to rock and roll everything seams so comercial these days and the poeple seam to lap it up.

From the start. Elvis sold the blues to white kids. The Sex Pistols were selling fashion. The idea that rock and roll is some pure thing done for its own sake leads many bands to try to make it so, but that's the mutation and if anything it's more prevalent than ever. If that's what you're looking for, you just have to look.
