Im a first year physics student from The Netherlands. I enjoy whiskey, literature and cigars. Though I sound like an introvert, im actually a very sociable person who likes to go to bars, enjoy a beer with friends several times a week and meets new people every week! I hope to get into the experimental space equipment field, and since I enjoy writing, id like to write for a scientific website or magazine like arstechnica .
More dutchies? I knew of 2 other than me, now I know of 3. If I may ask, where do you study? And what exactly is the "experimental space equipment field"?
And now I know one dutchy as well! The bastion of Europe it seems we are, since I've mostly americans.. I study applied physics in Eindhoven at the TU\e. Experimental space equipment isn't really a field, but I am really interested in ion engines, deep space communication, energy supply etc. I actually like a lot of fields, but I think this embraces most! Do you study as well?
My guess of experimental space equipment would be new space equipment then? Since you study at the TU/e, that would be the most logical thing. Ion engines and the like sound pretty awesome. I also study in Eindhoven. Electrical engineering is what I do. From computers to electrical engines to power grids. Also great fun. EDIT: We aren't the only ones from Europe. There are some others, but indeed, mostly Americans and Canadians here.
Nope, I am not active at one of the student associations. I figured that those would cost too much time with too little gain. (and really, you only want to join in your first year) Physics is also really interesting, but I think I wouldn't be able to handle it.
I think BBC Focus are looking for writers if that's any help.
