The problem he's creating is these projects don't disappear without me, they just have poor handoff resulting in overworking the remaining staff as they find themselves further behind than they need to be.

Work will still get done, but staff will be less happy and customers they work with, both internal and external, will be less satisfied. It's more likely an error will occur.

I don't actually blame my boss. He's trying really hard. Failing miserably, but he's trying. It's his boss that's really dropping the ball by not recognizing the failing and stepping in to coach my team lead or taking control directly.

All I can figure is he's assuming things are fine if he isn't hearing about it. Which is ironic because when I tell him things aren't going well he responds as if it's my issue. "The squeaky wheel gets the grease."

I think management as a whole figures if work is getting done that everything is fine.
