Great end result, and fascinating process. I'm curious about your 'notes'? When you are doing a long-term art project, do you take notes on the process? How do you use the notes? How do you take notes when your fingers are covered with 6 colors of ink? :-) "...Per my notes I started this project end of Sept..."
LOL! So by notes in that sentence I just meant I checked the date of the photos with my initial sketch. HOWEVER...in part bc I had that printing workshop set up last week, I did start a folder for this project. It’s now full of my trace originals; prints done in black ink on transparencies (to help figure out alignment and overlay); yes, even a few scrawled actual notes — like this one: Mostly though it's just unfinished prints -- I like to check on the carving in progress so often ink it up and give it a go throughout carving. I often tell myself I know what it'll look like and the parts I need to carve out I will still know need to be carved out, whether I print it rightnow or no...but... Lots of in-progress prints regardless :) I'm better about dating my sketchbook. Prints make a lot of loose paper though!
