I really do not understand how Palm oil used as bio-fuel will create so much catastrophe. Palm oil is clean and in most African countries, it's used as cooking oil.
Anything in excess is a bad idea. This is why they should be careful when releasing something new in the atmosphere because more often than not, these new technology/chemicals, etc. will bite us in the ass and might be worst for all us here in on earth.
It isn't the oil itself that causes so much damage, it's the production of the oil. Palm oil: good. Clear cutting old growth forests for planting palms: bad.
