Come to Russia. If I still have a place in Tomsk by then, I'll show you around. You can also check out Saint Peterburg (big, beautiful old city with remarkable architecture), Sochi (warm, sunny Russian-esque places with access to sea and lots of interesting little quirks) or Novosibirsk (the only million-people city in Western Siberia, very urban, has metro unlike most cities around it). Those are the ones I've been to and seen (SPb only briefly, but the reputation has been there for ages - literally!). Lake Baikal, Crimea, Vladivostok, Sakhalin, Kamchatka, Altai... and lots of land in between.I'm trying to figure out vacation plans for the year and am a bit stumped.
My brother is going to NYC for a wedding this year, I'll get his input as a small-town non-American for you. But I've also driven around it, absolutely amazing stuff. London is intense too, so cramped.. then you've got my town and it's all.. like there's space between houses on the hill up there! https://www.google.co.nz/maps/@-45.9116069,170.4904368,3a,75y,232.78h,88.01t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1suwHiqLUOWNKuGbyhr11YYw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

I appreciate the offer! I'm probably going to stay a little closer to home. I have cats and don't like to leave them for more than a week. I have someone come check on them, but I still feel bad. So I'm kind of thinking a few shorter trips would be nice. I have other commitments that get in the way.
