I think I'm falling down the 3d printer rabbit hole. Right now I'm sorting through various reprap plans trying to figure out which one is the one.

Right now, 'tis this one.

Qualifications for being the one: cheap enough, and well documented enough.

EDIT

This one is also in the running. Delta printers are soo much more scifi to me, though.

Know what's cool about 3d printers? They have almost no resale value.

That means you can buy one for 2/3rds off off Craigslist, fuck around for a while, and then sell it for slightly less when you've figured out what you need.

when they're on craigslist... I've been watching for a while to get one for the kids' school... they don't come up often 'round these parts.

Yeah, we're a city of ~100k, our only 3d printer listing on craigslist is a 'wanted' ad.

Further proof that Denver is lame.

There's five up here right now. Including this one, which is also on ebay. In fact, eBay has 188 used 3D printers at the moment.

Not gonna lie - that's some funny shit right there.

There's a $600 printer for $200 out in the middle of buttfuck nowhere KS. It'd be like a 4 hour round trip, but Cl has nothing else going on locally.

I might inquire about it... maybe.
