I learned everything I needed to know about Oliver Stone from his documentary series (which is on Netflix) "The Untold History of the United States of America." In which series, Mr. Stone explained away the destruction of Warsaw by the Soviet inaction as the Red Army simply taking a rest after fighting really hard.

I saw W. debut at the Austin Film Festival. James Cromwell was there. I love James Cromwell. He's awesome. But I'd just seen Oliver Stone's W. and I walked up to him and was like, "well, that was... interesting."

It was lame on every level.

Back and to the left. History often belongs not to the truth, but to the best narrative. I suspect Oliver Stone believes this deeply.
