I'm in the "take the job" camp, as well, but for different reasons.

Jobs like this are exactly the kinds of things that don't get offered to you later in life, and you will regret not doing them.

Plus, it's when you go out into the world with a goal and wide eyes, that Amazing Shit Happens. Yeah, travel for vacation is good, and all, but hands down, my friends who have been photo journalists (and the like) ALWAYS have the most amazing stories and adventures.

Driving? Psh. If Paris Hilton can drive, then you can drive. Don't sweat it.

Skills? This is why you do gigs like this. Immerse yourself in it. Do it every minute of every day, and you will become a more skilled craftsman.

Relationship? You two are solid. This will make you even stronger. And like KB says, one of you can zip to the other one, any time, with a quick flight. Plus, there is FaceTime and Skype.

You are on the verge of exploding as a creative force. You have the inclination and the instinct, clearly. Now you need the immersive and trying experience of traveling on your own, for work, to hone your focus and talents, and bloom into a full-power Creator.

Do it. You will be even more amazing when you get back.
