There's quite a few streetcar projects on veen's list there. It's interesting to see that they're making a comeback.

I saw snoodog's post while I was on lunch, checked it out, grew a bit concerned. Checked out a few more websites, spent the rest of my day at work mildly concerned. On the drive home, listening to NPR, they had a few people talking and giving perspectives and I forget who said it and how he said it but it basically boiled down to "This is all suggestions and wishful thinking and they're not even very good suggestions. Trump doesn't have any real power here. Congress pays the bills, congress gets final say. This budget doesn't even factor in tax revenue, the likelyhood of this going anywhere is slim to none."

The other day I read this article with the punchline of . . .

State and local officials say they'll be looking out for any federal spending that could help rebuild trust in the county's tap water. The cost of rebuilding the system is estimated at $13.5 million.

Now I know there are schools that need building and bridges that need fixing and land that needs cleaning, and I know I'm not good with numbers but $13.5 million to fix a county's water system sounds HELLA cheap and man, sometimes I just don't know how we get into these shit situations. It's like ignoring the busted furnace in your house so you can buy a new sound system for your TV to impress your frat bros.
