2) Portland sounds awesome.

3) What's your opinion on Gingham/Checkered patters? I used to dislike them, but over the past few years, I've discovered they look kind of good on me. Like real good.

I have no particular beef with Gingham, but it's something I haven't worked with because it seems like it would be really irritating to try and line up properly. I also think it looks a bit too preppy on me, though I do have a few plaid shirts I like.

I used to think gingham was really old fashioned, so much so that I don't know how it started sneaking into my wardrobe. I'm a huge fan of tartan patterns though. There have been times where I'd go on JoAnn's website and just browse their fabric.
