I loved Mose's sound. Little tight funky piano jams. His voice had a bit of tight strain, felt like you could hear the sound push over his cords.
I liked his social commentary songs the best.
They released "Mose Allison In Your Ear/Western Man" as a double album, it's worth picking up if you see it.

I'll have to check him out. This morning I awoke and headed into the shower with an overwhelming urge to hear some pre-1980's jazz. I honestly don't listen to that much in general but I ended up stumbling on some Joe Henderson. It was perfect. Listening to Canyon Lady, that baseline feels like it is from the 90's. Probably because it was sampled a bunch of times in various acid jazz tracks.
