Sad for Turkey, but a good day for us. The flood of smart Turkish immigrants should give us a nice little cultural boost for a few years, as well as lopping off the smartest 10% of their population and helping them become successful here. Unrest in other countries tends to make the smartest people leave. Then they go apply their smarts elsewhere, for other countries. Yay us. Boo Turkey.

That only affects official travel. Turkey has extensive water access, and thousand-year-old routes for moving anything anywhere. And this travel ban doesn't affect asylum seekers who show up at the US Embassy, or the German border, or ... well, anywhere, really. Ain't nothing more porous than a dictatorship's border.
