There is a guy at the pool we swim at that swims like a dolphin. Sometimes when it is crowded people split lanes. I once asked if he wouldn't mind splitting, and he replied: "I just should warn you, I am the fastest one in the pool." He seemed very serious but he is not the fastest. He swims like a dolphin, after all. After he swam off like a dolphin, I split a lane with someone else.

It's called the dolphin kick. It's the back half of the butterfly type of swimming. I used to be pretty good at it when I was in high school.

Don't get me wrong. I looks like a tough kick, and there are a few swimmers in the pool that do it from time to time. But this guy is all dolphin, all the time. It was mainly odd, because I'm not sure why it would matter if he was the fastest in the pool, and I'm not sure how he came to the belief.

It is odd that is all he does. I learned all kinds of strokes. The butterfly and dolphin kick was by far the most tiring. I guess it's just his personal beliefs.

This guy sounds like quite the character. I just envisioned him as Jim Carey in the Cable Guy.

No, not wacky like that at all. Just a serious dude with a weird delusion.

At least his weird delusion is harmless as opposed to so many other weird delusions.
