As of

most of you seem to dislike^Whate VW. Does BMW also have a bad reputation in the USA?

Edit: of course I talk about the time before all of this happened.

Anecdotally speaking, BMW sells more cars in Southern California than they do in Bavaria. Observationally speaking, they're all purchased by assholes.

THE SOCAL ASSHOLE SCALE:

1) BMW

2) AUDI

3) LEXUS

4) MINI

5) VW

They didn't sell nearly as many cars in WA, thus they weren't as highly represented. They were still one of the main offenders, though.

For me, my hatred of German cars is driven almost entirely by my hatred of German car drivers. I recognize that were they all to divest themselves of German cars they would remain assholes and I would need to recalibrate my scale (In NM, for example, they drove Volvos). However, the operational pain they would experience in doing so would be delicious to me.

do Fiats factor in anywhere (even tho yes pope francis is so gr8 and yas he drove a fiat)

I've never had an altercation with a Fiat. ugly and overpriced little cusses that they are, they seem to be driven with decorum.

Oddly enough, Porsches are an anomaly in Los Angeles. You can't help but think "douche" whenever you see one, but they're almost always driven respectably and without drama. Odd, considering how preposterously Teutonic they are.

Fiats are driven by people too young to remember how awful Fiats are.
