I was ready to sharpen the pitchfork starting into this article, but the author has some seemingly reasonable arguments. "Accept your kids as they want to be" seems pretty reasonable. I'll have to read more before forming more specific opinions, and I worry parents will miss "accept your children" and skip to "grow out of this," but it's an interesting counter point.
