Vermont state Senate passed a resolution "calling for an amendment to the [U.S.] Constitution that corporations are not people and money is not speech and can be regulated in political campaigns"
Ending corporate personhood is a total non-starter. Hundreds of years of common law are built on the limited granting of rights to artificial persons. Without this, a corporation would not be able to enter into contracts, retain legal representation, buy property, etc.
Fortunately, the states can start the process of amending the Constitution. Hopefully this will get the ball rolling, because that is the only way that this ridiculous law will fall. Look how long it took the Supreme Court to overturn Plessy v. Ferguson.

Go Vermont! We'll see if this pressure changes the SCOTUS position. I think their ruling will go down in history as one of the most studied and controversial.
