I haven't seen the finale of either of these shows but I have watched one season of the Wire and several of the Sopranos, they were both great. I don't know why I stopped watching both of them, but at least I have them to look forward to. I've recently begun watching Breaking Bad and I have a feeling after 2 seasons that it's going to be consider in the same realm as both the Wire and the Sopranos. It's pretty amazing. Bryan Cranston's performance is off the charts.

I can't say enough good things about the Wire. The show didn't really click for me until the second season so I recommend you stick with it. It's the complexity and depth of subplots that puts it above the rest. That takes some time to get into, but you'll come to find that your investment is well worth the expense.
