I really liked this movie, t o me it wasn't so much about AI as it was about socipathy and what practical cost of intelligence. The conversation about Jackson Pollock really hit close to home, of what you have to go through psychologically to create something new.
Yes, I enjoyed that side of the film too. There is very much a mental and psychological angle that Garland takes with Nathan. I think the following is important: Which relates back to what determines consciousness? Does a certain threshold of randomness have to ensue to pass as conscious?
