I guess people can't say that there's never been a militant atheist anymore. It seems incredibly obtuse to think that this is actually the result of a parking dispute, but we'll have to see what evidence reveals itself.

They won't shut the fuck up about it.

That doesn't make him less racist. It just means he was racist enough to kill three Muslims by shooting them each in the head over a parking space.

Same shit with the Duck Dynasty guys that live a floor below me.

Exactly! I'm honestly not buying it, either--he shot the three of them execution style, turned himself in, AND had a premeditated answer. If he actually cared about parking, he wouldn't commit a crime that would prevent him from ever parking again, and he certainly wouldn't have turned himself in.

I think the parking space excuse is a case of people accepting a narrative because it aligns with their beliefs/practices--i.e. the otherization of Muslims in America.

I guess people can't say that there's never been a militant atheist anymore.

The difference here is that this person was effected by subconscious triggers, if it was about their faith at all, if he was effected at all. Nobody went out to target people to kill them for what they said or believed. This isn't militant atheism at all.

Trigger happy people shoot others every single day. A local area near me had a teacher pull a gun on some person in a drive through over them taking too much time at the window. Not everything is triggered by the person having some deep hidden racism.

And I'd be surprised if the instance you described was as premeditated as this. I'm not going to call him a militant atheist, it really was just a quip (and in bad taste, I apologize), but I don't think we need to liken it to that scenario as you described it.
