Been seeing these recently:

They're intended for sand but I'll bet they'd do pretty good in snow, too.

Yeah, those tires look good. I think I'd feel safe on that bike! I'd love to try all kinds of bikes in this weather.

It's so crazy-dangerous snow-cycling in the city. It was all new-fallen so nothing had been plowed. I was afraid of hitting an ice patch and sliding into traffic. Luckily there's bicycle lanes most of my way home and it was fun. Several bikes passed me. At a light, a man crossing the street near me slipped and almost fell. He brushed away the snow and realized he had slipped on a flattened cardboard box. That's the thing about the snow: You can't see what it's covering and any number of things could cause me to fall.

I still need better gloves and a balaclava to wear under my helmet.

I was willing to ride the motorcycle in Seattle if there was snow on the ground but not on the road. Off-camber is a bad place to be with ice.
