Chromeo is a fun band. You ever see them jamming with Daryl Hall?
That's awesome. Such a melting pot of genres.
The cheesiness is palpable, but I love cheese, both literally and figuratively. Lesser known 80's style artists (all somewhat recent releases) - I have so many more, just let me know if you're interested.
I love cheese and I'm digging these. More please!
Oh no. I don't know where to begin. I don't know where to stop. I have amassed such a collection of "new" 80's music that I'm not going to embed videos, loading this thread already takes several seconds (HEAVENS!) on my "premium" internet connection. Kris Menace & Lifelike - Discopolis WARNING NSFW video Also, just YouTube search "Lifelike Remix". There are at least 30 results that sound like 80's sex to me. K-Pop with 80's synths (lol) Robotaki. YouTube him too. Shook takes a nice little sample (not sure of the source), but has some old school production techniques that I always dig. I really did shed a couple tears the first time I watched this vid, which is funny, because I'd both listened to the song and seen the movie, "18 Again", prior to watching the superposition of the two. Dat emotion. This bleeds into a more modern production method, though still has some 80's elements. Let me know which ones you like, and which ones you don't, so I can home in on the style of music you're looking for. I have A LOT more in terms of potential suggestions.
I liked your Cassette Club and Sneaky Sound System tracks. The Kris Menace bit is great too. I don't know if I'm ready for Robotaki but I think I'd love to hear more Toomy Disco. All good stuff though thanks for sharing. I've never heard any of this. I've got two for you. Busy P - Rainbow Man and Pacific! - Runway to Elsewhere.
Very familiar with Busy P and all things Ed Banger. That Pacific! track is nice, thanks for that, never heard of them. I'll leave you with my favorite track of all time, met these guys (CLASSIXX) at SXSW, they're a couple of hella cool people.
I like it. Here's a different Night by Night:
I freakin' love Rush! Here's some Skynyrd.
