user-inactivated  ·  3879 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Over the past few days, we've had 8,888 people visit Hubski from outside referrers.

We got some new, active users, from what I can gather, especially from Brazil/Porteguese-speaking areas.

We also almost scared a user into leaving because we thought he was a robot!

I guess that can happen when you're introduced to Hubski from a third-party like Mashable. What does "A forum of good ideas and conversations." mean? What can you post, what are the comments like? You can't tell from that one sentence. You have to lurk on Hubski first.

But this new influx of visitors is way less obnoxious than when Reddit redirects to us, so hell, I'm all for it.

What I find most interesting about the increase in users is that it has changed my 'depth of field'. There are now corners of hubski that I am unlinked to.
